Andaz Papagayo
Entrance to Andaz Papagayo peninsula, Costa Rica
Welcome to one of the most sorted properties in Costa Rica, the myth, the legend, the unicorn, Andaz Papagayo.
During my visit to the Guanacaste province, west of the country, close to the border with Nicaragua resides an exclusive development that holds the names of the likes of Ritz-carlton reserve and Waldorf Astoria.
I wanted to check this property for so long and to be honest, it was worth the wait, come with me and dive into why this is the property to stay in this side of the country.
Andaz Lobby
The property was opened in 2013, but it has gone through a full renovation, the timeless jungle boutique design keeps up with the past of time.
The big open lobby with beautiful views greets you and welcomes you to a memorable time in this small boutique like five star hotel.
After the check-in formalities you’re greeted by the main restaurant / coffee shop / pool area with beautiful design and astonishing views of the bay.
Breakfast is serve here and the small coffee shop is a small cozy space for those who want to really experience coffe, they have great baristas and you can book one of the many coffee workshops for you to enjoy.
Now, one of the coolest thing about the Andaz Papagayo is its beach club called “casa de playa”, its build in a secluded private beach that can be reach by boat from the main pools shown above, the 10 minute ride will end in a pristine-fancy little oasis just for your enjoyment.
you’d also have access to the wildlife conservation center where you’d be able to book tours from safaris to monkeys/ bird spotting.
You’ll have everything you need to have a relaxing beachy tranquil day here, with a restaurant, bar, state of the art bathrooms pool and a private beach.
Back in the main property area you could book spa services with a beautiful view of the ocean, or just enjoy the gym / hot tub available to all guests.
Rooms vary from the regular king to a private villa that can host up to 8 people,
with a modern local design, inspired in the peninsula you’d have a great time at the property regardless of the room.
the villas are great as are in a more secluted section of the hotel, with a fully stocked kitchen, living/dinning area and 3 floors for your enjoyment you can have that family getaway here.
also you can book a chef to come to the villa and cook four you at the terrace while you enjoy your private pool.
As Hyatt Prive agents we can book the same published hotel rate for you but we can elevate your experience by including amenities like early check-in / late check-out, daily breakfast, room upgrade (upon availability) and hotel credits for you to splurge in a nice dinner or a spa treatment.
Overall the Hyatt Andaz is the king in the peninsula in my honest opinion, the well trained staff, the beautiful facilities and that jaw-dropping beach club makes it my favorite property.
