Park Hyatt Seoul
I recently came back from a trip to South Korea, having been to the country in previous occasions I wanted to try new stuff, different hotels, activities beyond the usual touristy stuff and some of that renowned k-beauty.
Gyeongbokgung Palace
Even if you’ve been here before, it’s always a beautiful place to stroll by.
Having said that, I really wanted to tried the Park Hyatt, I’ve staid at the Grand Hyatt -mind me with my K-drama delusions- and it was great but not “la crème de la crème” Hyattly speaking.
To book a standard room I paid 25.000 hyatt points that I transferred from my ultimate rewards stash, with cash prices for the same room starting at $500 you’re looking at a $0.02 cpp which is pretty good.
Price
The property is located in Gangnam, one of Seoul’s hottest neighborhoods, with views to the COEX mall - where the starfield library’s located - and the gangnam style statue is.
Park Hyatt Entrance
the hotel is conveniently located next to a metro station and a major shopping center, the astonishing entrance comes to a rather disappointing “pre lobby” where you’d take an elevator to the actual lobby on the 24th floor.

Having said that, once you’re taken to the 24th floor, you’d arrive to the actual lobby to do the necessary formalities to check-in.
Lobby
Besides the inconvenience to always have to go to the last floor to go to your room or in/out of the hotel, the lobby has some beautiful views and a bar where you can enjoy the sunset.
I’m a Explorist with Hyatt -the midtier status- which gave me an upgrade of a bigger room with a nicer view, and early check-in, I arrived at 11:00am and my room was ready even when standard check-in time is 3:00pm which was nice, I was offer late checkout but I was flying back to the states that day so I was planning on leaving early anyways.
The vibe of the hotel feels “high-end oriental” with beautiful woods and art along the halls
The room was beautiful, the bed was on the hard side but I had an awesome sleep, and the service impeccable, and overall a great bang for you buck
The floor to ceiling windows from the room to the bathroom gives a really high end feel, the automated blackout and shades allows to enjoy the view as much and as little as one desires, the tv is on a stand alone deck that allows a more integrated design of the rest of the room.
Overall my experience at the property was really nice, I didn’t tried the breakfast as is not included with my status / room of choice, I planned to used a Club award certificate but the park hyatt doesn’t have one.
I left my stay here for the last day as I planned to go to a dermatology clinic in Gangnam as well as visiting the library so it was convenient for my plans, but if it’s your first time in Seoul I’d rather be closer to Myeogndong / Insadong to be closer to the major attractions.
